Since FutureX was founded with the mission to prove that all businesses can be a force for good, our team and network have achieved some phenomenal things. Our accomplishments have included supporting the cohesion of Scotland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, delivering the biggest ever Startup Summit, launching Impact Summit with 300 enterprising citizens and global leaders, convening a cohort of leaders at the Virtuous Economy Forum and launching leadership programmes in Berlin and Silicon Valley.
We’ve already seen incredible changes and learned from the inspiring concepts being brought to life around the globe, but we also understand how much more work there is to do across the board. Beyond individual businesses and leaders, changing the culture of the economy for the better requires the involvement of government bodies and nationwide NGOs. It’s crucial, then, that we all utilise our individual abilities and skills in order to bring about the most effective and meaningful transformation possible.
We are very proud of what we have achieved together in just under two years, and with this rapid growth we also recognise the need to be adaptive to the changes we see in the world.
With this in mind, FutureX leadership team is undergoing changes that will see cofounder Adam Purvis step down from the organisation. During this initial period, Adam has pioneered work with Scotland CANDO and the design of our new programmes such as the Virtuous Economy Forum, driving an agenda of change and greater cooperation among partners, businesses and governments. After a series of conversations among our leadership team we felt that it was right for Adam to focus on exploring these different approaches and bring these important projects forward with their deserved momentum.
Earlier this year, Adam spoke at TEDxYouthGlasgow, sharing key learnings from his pioneering work with purpose-led entrepreneurs from all over the world and inviting the audience to listen to their hearts as much as their minds. It is well worth a watch.
FutureX will continue to be driven by Bruce Walker and Zoi Kantounatou, who will lead our team into the future as we focus further on international growth and responsible business leadership, continuing to champion impact and values-driven entrepreneurship everywhere we go. We’re very excited for our next global conference, Startup Summit, on 31st October in Edinburgh, which will welcome 1,000 business leaders from around the world.
We came together in the belief that we can build a better world through business and we depart committed to the same belief. We will continue to support each other passionately as we champion a purpose-led approach to life and business.
